Not just making it illegal, but making being gay punishable with death.
This is one of the many reasons why I walk by every single red bucket in the run-up to Christmas. They’re not getting my money, I don’t care how nice the people ringing bells are.
Ever since the time they threatened to close all their soup kitchens in NYC if a law that did something as simple as allow companies to extend spousal benefits to their employee’s same-sex domestic partners I have refused to buy from them or donate to them.
It’s that time of year again! In case people don’t know… the Salvation Army is shitty peoples.
Also, the married women are not paid (and therefore can’t qualify for assistance if they should ever divorce, etc). And worth “of course” less than a man.
“
In the Army’s case, the agreement for compensation is that the officer allowance be paid jointly to the husband—the check is written in his name. Officially, the wife is a “worker without expectation of remuneration,” and her husband receives 40 percent more of an allowance as a married man than he would as a single man.
Don’t abuse the bell ringers unless they get aggressive, but don’t give them a bent penny.
me: i’m gonna check wikipedia to see what they’ve done, see some sources, etc
wikipedia:
In November 2013 it was made known that the Salvation Army was referring LGBT individuals to one of several conversion therapy groups.[162] As a response the Salvation Army removed such referrals from their website.[163]
When we watched this episode my gf was like “Literally u around Every Animal Ever” and I could not deny it
Adora is all of us
And has the correct reaction to Good Majestic Horse Friends
“Oh and Swift Wind wanted me to tell you… Horsie was a stupid name.”
While my partner and I don’t always watch that much together nowadays (us having our own schedules/screens and all), this is one of those shows she’s made a specific request to wait for her to be around before I watch it. =)
So, while looking up the rights holder for She-Ra I discovered something on the Wikipedia entry about the show. Which lead me to thinking about the ramifications of some choices.

Discussion (and spoilers) under the cut
So, according to the entry, it looks like they’re keeping most of her old canon origin. She’s the daughter of the King and Queen of Eternia, and descendant of King Greyskull, and kidnapped by King Randor’s brother Keldor (Skeletor) and given to Hordak for more power. Then Hordak is banished to the pocket dimension of Despondos. This all happened about 15-16 years ago, which is about the time Hordak started making his play for Etheria.
Now, that out of the way. We learned that there’s no stars over Etheria, and hasn’t been for generations. Which lead to the later reveal, that the previous She-Ra host, Mara, had snapped and went mad with grief. She then plucked Etheria and her moons and put them into Despondos, as a way to protect them.
So basically, it’s a combination of Randor/Greyskull and Mara that Etheria ever even threatened by Hordak. It’s literally showing that the “Let’s make it someone else’s problem” (Randor/Greyskull) and isolationism (Mara) are horrible ideas and will lead to worse problems down the line.
Also, I’m wondering if Razz is Mara or Mara’s “Glimmer”.
My only complaint, they’re barely in the show. I highly doubt that it was the showrunner/head writer’s fault, I mean, she gave us shit like Lumberjanes.
Most likely it was the intellectual property rights holder (I wanna say Universal owns the entertainment rights) telling them to “turn down the gay”.
Thanks @smoothysmooth for making me see this similarity. 😡
HRT is a powerful thing

Be the Glorious Scorpion Lady only you can be.
To all of my ladies out there, if you want to become like Scorpia, request a Black Garnet Power Rune from your health care provider along side of your HRT.
