So yeah, Belial got another revision, and with a suggestion by my wonderful Viking friend Ken, I think I have her exactly how I want her.

The Second Born. Michael was the second Yazta born to Empyrean, where she was doted on by her older sister Lucifer. She dutifully served her elder sister and their Creator. 

When Lucifer rebelled, Michael’s heart broke, having to fight her closest sister and best friend. She could not bear the day Lucifer was cast from Heaven, Michael left as well, spending her solitary life helping mankind. Over time she came to love the strange little monkeys scattered over the surface of the Earth.

Hearing the call of War, Michael returned to Empyrean, hoping to stem the tide of civil war. Then Lucifer returned, Michael watched as the Light Bringer slaughtered her sisters and the souls of Empyrean. Taking up arms again, she and Lucifer fought through the Heavens, Underworlds and finally Earth. 

Their carnage lead to the other Kingdoms to join together and seal the Gate to Empyrean. Cast to Earth to live as mortals in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, Michael consigned herself to fighting the darkness in the world, protecting mankind as she had before. Cycle after Cycle, Michael abstained from the Battles of Halos, not needing or wanting the wish granted the winner, as she watched her elder sister’s continued brutality.

Over time, Lucifer and Michael grew back together, with Michael being her elder sister’s voice of reason. Now best friends and family again, they pair are friendly rivals in their mortal lives. Michael’s current life, she’s one of the proclaimed Princes of Heaven at the Sanctuary School. Like her sister Lucifer, she splits her time between school and fighting the dark creatures of the Sideways Place.

Long ago, she was the first Yazta brought forth by the god Ahura Mazda. The God loved the Light Bringer most, and Lucifer loved her God with all of her heart. Then over time, Lucifer’s love turned to jealousy, as other Yazta were formed. When Ahura Mazda implored her Light Bringer to protect mankind as Empryean’s representitive, Lucifer’s heart broke, and she rebelled. Cast from the Empryean, she cruelly ruled the Blasted Lands of Gehenna. 

Over time, her heart healed. Leaving the darkness, she returned to the Gate, only to find it closed, and a civil war raging in the Heavens. Finding the truth, that her God had taken her own life in grief, Lucifer waged an unholy war on the other Yazta and their Angelic Hosts.

Fearing this war would destroy the Earth, the other Kingdoms banished those of Empryean to Earth and sealed the Gate. Now all the children of Ahura Mazda are cursed to living through endless cycles of mortal lives. Some have resigned themselves to their mortality.

Lucifer and others have spent many thousands of days and nights, protecting mankind from unseen horrors, and fighting amongst themselves for the power of one wish made at the end of every one thousand year cycle. Living her current human lifetime, Lucifer feels the pull to collect the  other haloes needed to make the once in a cycle wish.

Will she win, what will she wish for if she does?
