Last Friday, Ali Von Klan (Inter/Act member & intern) was invited by the LGBTQIA student group at Wake Forest Baptist University and spoke to a room of 50+ medical students. She discussed medicalization and normalization of intersex conditions and current practices that are aimed at ensuring quality care for people born with intersex traits. “It was a success,” she says! “Many students thanked me and several were shocked that cosmetic genital surgeries persist today.” Thank you Ali and in the words of Sean Saifa Wall, “We Will Win!”

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — California on Monday became the first state to enshrine certain rights for transgender K-12 students in state law, requiring public schools to allow those students access to whichever restroom and locker room they want.
